Enjoy a delightfully authentic rural New Zealand experience on our fully functioning 500-acre A2 dairy farm, located in the heart of the Waikato.
With a full catering team onsite, the historical Red Barn offers delicious morning tea and country-style lunch options accompanied by a working dairy farm tour for group bookings.
Experience our 60-minute guided tour of a traditional Waikato working dairy farm. Where Synlait, one of New Zealand’s largest dairy exporters, collects the milk daily, processes it and exports it worldwide in various forms.
On arrival you will meet your tour guide at ‘The Shed’, where you will be given a pair of NZ’s famous ‘Red Band’ gumboots to wear during the tour. When everyone is ready hop on board our purpose build farm trailer (fully certified) and take a tractor/trailer ride through the picturesque Waikato A2 dairy farm down to the traditional ‘Herringbone’ milking shed. During the farm tour your guide will give an informative commentary, and if the timing is right you may get to meet our farm manager Alan and Blossom his favourite cow, and watch the milking shed in action.
During the tour you will gain a good understanding of the daily practices of a New Zealand farmer and the importance of farming to the New Zealand economy. You may even get to milk a cow by hand the old-fashioned way!!
Once you are back at The Red Barn, savour a country-style lunch that features delicious local produce.
You will receive exceptional attention to detail, outstanding Kiwi service, and an unforgettable group dining and farm tour experience in the rural heart of the Waikato.
