Jakama Lodge is a 35h (100 acre) property located 10km south of Cambridge on the banks of Lake Karapiro. The farm is predominantly dedicated to the breeding and racing of Thoroughbred horses, we do however have a number of cattle, sheep and hens, all of which help create a sustainable eco system without the need for spray programs.
The homestead is a large rammed earth building built in 2009 with sustainable eco friendly, local building materials, bio paints and oils to create a solid, healthy, people friendly environment. The house has 5 bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms meaning we are able to cater for fairly large groups of up to 14. Smaller numbers also welcome with price packages negotiable.
Jakama Lodge is ideal for wedding parties, rowing or cycling teams who want a quiet, peaceful place to come back to.
The property is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore parts of the central North Island, with Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Raglan, Waitomo caves and Hobbiton all an easy day trip. Kayaks are provided to explore the lake or take a walk around the farm.
Plenty of parking for boats, cars, campers and even your horse or dog.
