Get a true insight into the working operation of an organic dairy farm, where they are passionate about healthy, honest and sustainable farming. Visit this 50ha farm, milking around 65 cows, where they produce certified raw, organic milk and sell it at their farm gate via a vending machine. The cows are a mix of breeds – mainly Milking Shorthorn and Ayrshire with some Friesian and Jersey X girls in the herd. Learn about what is involved to become registered to supply organic raw milk directly to the consumer – herd, hygiene and shed practices, and milk testing.
Please note that due to this being a “Raw Organic” dairy farm, it is not possible to observe milking as the dairy cows need to be kept calm. You will get an opportunity to view the dairy cows and other animals, including calves (seasonally), ducks, sheep, and chooks. Tour is available Monday – Saturday between 10am-2pm (finished by 3pm). Other times may be available by special request. Large groups welcome.
There is a recently planted orchard with a variety of stone fruit and citrus. In the orchard there are Ducks (Buff Orpingtons and Indian Runners) and Wiltshire sheep. Certified organic Chook Eggs are also available to purchase.
Adult $30.00 (min 2 adults)
