2. FREE:  Cambridge Museum: Town Teasers by Cambridge Museum: 30-60 min activity for all ages. Can you find features and facts around town using the Museum’s new heritage discovery app (available on mobile). Pick up an activity sheet at the Museum. 24 Victoria Street. Open 10 am – 4 pm Monday to Friday, 10 am – 2pm Saturdays & Sundays. Free entry.

3. FREE: On your bike – Avantidrome pump track, Te Awa River ride, Te Miro and Pirongia bike parks are all free and FUN. Plus we have a brand new world class Pump Track, Dominion Ave. If you do need to hire a bike – talk to us – we have all options covered.

4. FREE: Waikato River Trails – excellent for a walk or a bike ride, grab hot chocolates and yummy food at Rhubarb Café Arapuni.

Go Rural!

5. Visit an Alpaca Farm – and you will also get to see Bison, Llamas, Goats,  Miniature Donkeys, Blacknose Sheep, and more. Priced from $60 for four people. Contact the Cambridge i-SITE for more information (07-823-3456)

6. Visit the “cutest sheep in the world” – Valais Blacknose Sheep. Spring is the perfect time to visit as Lambs are available to view and play with. You will also meet their Gyspy Vanner Horses  and the chooks!  Contact the Cambridge i-SITE for more information (07-823-3456)

7. Learn where your milk comes from with a Dairy Farm Tour at Alexander Organics – they will cater the tour to your requirements and also have a market garden and other animals.

8. Tivoli Cinema Cambridge – featuring “Four Kids and It”, “Cats & Dogs 3”,  “100% Wolf” and more! Checkout their Schedule on their Website

9. Visit our world class Avantidrome. It is free to head inside and have a look around and chances are you will see our elite athletes training. Make sure you walk around the top of the trackt to truly appreciate the steep wooden track. These school holidays they have a full program of events. Find out more and book:

10. Cambridge Library: Pop in for a visit and spend some time in their kids zone reading and relaxing. They are holding a “Virtual School holiday programme” and packs  are available for collection from 21 September. Tutorials online from Monday 28 September. There will also be a  “Get Active 2020” program. Participating providers and some free classes provided by the Library. 11. Sanctuary Mountain – Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari is a world class conservation project  that aims to continue species re-introductions and breeding programmes to create biodiversity in a sound ecological environment. At 3400 hectares,  it is one of the largest pest-proof fenced projects in the world. This pest-proof fence is 47km long and offers a safe haven for many of New Zealand’s most endangered species – from birds to bats, frogs to reptiles, tuatara to giant weta.

16. Miniature Trains, Leamington Domain, Wordsworth Street. Children under 5 ride free with an accompanied fare paying passenger.
