Cancelled due to Covid-19 Levels
Welcome to the National Track Series.
We hope by making these decisions now including setting new dates, will give riders and their supporters the opportunity to amend their training and travel arrangements.
We do recognise that the landscape around Covid-19 is fluid (to say the least!) and the government have not determined when their recommendation on public events and mass gatherings will end.
Therefore, a final decision on whether Round 1 will go ahead will be made no later than 19 June. If the ongoing advice of the government, other authorities and our own risk planning, does not support this event going ahead, Round 1 will be cancelled and we will implement new timelines in regards to a decision on Round 2 in September.
Open to U17 through to U23 male and female riders, the three-round series has been developed by Cycling New Zealand to provide a series of track racing opportunities for developing riders in a competitive and supported environment.
The objectives of the series include offering riders the opportunity to develop increased tactical and technical awareness (and bunch skills for Endurance riders) and to provide riders with relevant and practicable educational, coaching and tactical/technical workshops.
The series is also designed to provide a platform for coaches to share experience and knowledge and provide opportunities to grow understanding on the skills specific to guiding, coaching and supporting their young riders.
Each round will also host a number of workshops to support the objectives of the series including tactics, race analysis, coaching clinics, application and intent of rules. Events will be held over in both the North and South Island.
