The Lions Club holds its Trash 'n Treasure Market on the second Sunday of each month, when dozens of traders lay out their wares on stalls in Victoria Street and Duke Street. You'll find everything from pieces of art to pieces of junk, and part of the fun is deciding which is the bargain. Trash 'n Treasure runs from 8.30am till 1.30pm.
The Tamahere Country Market is held every third Saturday of the month at St Stephen's Church, Tamahere (14kms, 15 minutes drive from Cambridge). The market, with more than 100 sites, runs from 8.30am till 1pm and offers everything from produce to buskers.
While New Zealand Daylight Saving is in force, the Te Awamutu Twilight Farmers Market is held in Selwyn Park,next to the Information Centre in Gorst Avenue (24kms, 27 mins drive from Cambridge), on Thursdays, from 3.30pm till 6pm.
The Antiques, Curios and Collectables Fair is held every third Saturday of the month at the Tamahere Community Hall, in Divine Road. There, you'll find books, china, vinyl records, jewellery, dolls, vintage and retro clothing, some old but interesting furniture and some classic garden tools.
Cambridge also hosts markets and fairs that are held on a seasonal or annual basis.
These include the twice-yearly Giant Craft & Collectable Fair (Labour Weekend in October, and Auckland Anniversary day in January) at St Andrew's Church, 85 Hamilton Road.
