The jockey club holds 14 meetings a year at Te Rapa and it is the flagship course for the Waikato which has more racehorses and studs than any other region in the country.
Three of the 14 meetings are run by the Cambridge Jockey Club, in April (Premier Race Day), June and November. Leading annual events are the Group 2 Travis Stakes for fillies and mares over 2000 metres, and the Group 3 Windsor Park Stud Breeders Stakes for three year olds over 1200 metres.
Other racetracks within easy distance of Cambridge include Te Awamutu (26km, 29 mins), Matamata (42km, 33 mins), Te Aroha (52km, 48 mins) and Rotorua (84km, 67 mins).
